Guide To Llantwit Fardre

Llantwit Fardre is situated 10 miles north of Cardiff, 4 miles south of Pontypridd and 2 miles from Llantrisant and the M4 motorway. It is a large village community with lots of great schools, sports facilities, sports clubs, bars, restaurants and shops.


Housing in the area is a mix of terrace, semi-detached and detached houses with prices ranging from £150,000 to over £300,000 depending on house type and area.

Crown Hill is a housing estate was originally built between the late 1960's and mid 1970's and consisted of semi-detached properties. The average cost of a property is £200,000 with a mixture of three bedrooms, semi-detached houses and bungalows.

 
Maes-y-Bryn Primary school is located on Lancaster Drive and has 400 pupils split into 15 classes.  The school has an annual intake of 56 pupils but tends to be oversubscribed.  


There is a children’s park, dentist, convenience shop and hairdressers located on the estate and is in easy walking distance to the Church Village By-Pass and a number of local pubs, bars and restaurants.


Chandlers Reach is a housing estate originally built in the 1980's and comprises link, semi-detached and detached properties. The average cost of a property is £160,000 with large detached properties costing over £300,000. The estate is situated adjacent to the Newtown Llantwit Community Centre and offers easy access to the Church Village By-Pass and a number of local pubs, bars and restaurants.


Meadow Farm is a housing estate originally built in the 1980's and comprises link, semi-detached and detached properties. The average cost of a property is £240,000 with large detached properties costing over £300,000. The estate is located between the Main Road A473 and St Illtyds road and is an easy walking distance to the Church Village By-Pass and a number of local pubs, bars and restaurants.
 
Efail Isaf


Penywaun is a housing estate originally built in the 1960's and comprises detached properties. The average cost of a property is £420,000. The estate is located in the centre of Efail Isaf a small village south of Llantwit Fardre and is close to the local village shop and The Carpenters Arms.  Efail Isaf also has a small chapel and community centre.


Nant Celyn is a housing estate originally built in the 1990's consisting of mainly detached properties. The average cost of a property is £375,000. The estate is located on the outskirts of Efail Isaf is close to the local village shop, The Carpenters Arms and is in easy walking distance to the Church Village By-Pass and the Garth Mountain.


Church Village


St David’s Manor, is a housing estate built in the 2000's and comprises mainly detached houses.  The average house price is £310,000. The estate is located on the site of the old East Glamorgan Hospital on the main road between Llantwit Fardre and Church Village.


The Paddocks is situated in Upper Church Village with mostly semi-detached houses with an average asking price of £250,000.

Tonteg


The Ridings is a housing estate located in Tonteg with a mixture of semi-detached and detached properties.  The average house price is £313,000 and is walking distance to all local amenities including playing fields, children’s parks, shops, pubs and the Church Village Bypass.
