Investigation Continues Following Vehicle Incident in Beddau

Residents in Beddau and the surrounding area were left shocked following a serious incident on Tynant Road on the evening of 31 October.
South Wales Police confirmed that officers were called to the scene at around 9.05pm after receiving reports that a car had collided with members of the public. Police said two people were involved and that minor injuries were reported.
The incident is understood to have taken place near the Welfare Hall and Post Office on Tynant Road, a busy part of the village used daily by local residents.
Reports published by national and regional news outlets state that footage circulating locally appeared to show a group of people gathered on the road before a vehicle drove towards members of the group. The footage reportedly shows the vehicle moving away before returning towards the crowd for a second time.
While details surrounding the events leading up to the incident remain unclear, the footage has prompted concern amongst residents across Beddau, Llantwit Fardre and neighbouring communities.
Fortunately, no serious injuries have been reported. However, incidents of this nature inevitably raise concerns about public safety in village centres and the potential consequences when vehicles are involved in confrontations.
The area around Tynant Road forms part of the heart of the community, connecting local businesses, public services and residential areas. For many residents, it is a place where people walk to the shops, meet friends, visit local amenities and go about their daily lives.
South Wales Police have confirmed that investigations into the incident remain ongoing. At the time of writing, no further official details have been released regarding those involved or the circumstances that led to the collision.
