Chemical waste dumped in Nant Dowlais!

Whilst taking my dog for a walk this morning around Nant Dowlais I came across this used diesel oil barrel that had clearly been dumped in the Nant Dowlais stream; I personally find this distressing!

Due to the heavy industry of the past the rivers and water ways where heavily polluted for years and void of fish and other wildlife however since the closure of the local coal mines in the 1980’s the water quality in our streams and rivers such as Nant Dowlais has improved dramatically and over the past 10 years we’ve seen wide array of birds, fish and even otters return to the waters.

Llantwit Fardre is not a chemical waste site and we don’t want to return to people and organisations polluting our environment with toxic waste!
